March 14 - Walk Upright

For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory;
no good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.
Psalm 84:11

What does it mean to walk upright? Walking upright according to scripture is not simply the act of walking with good posture, but rather walking proud and of great stature with the Lord. He will not withhold from those who walk uprightly. Do you walk upright each day? Are you going to walk upright today? To walk upright with the Lord you must free yourself of the judgment you pass onto others, be not hasty in your remarks, and be gracious in your actions. Release the gossip that fills your heart. Rather replace it with His love and graciousness.

If time allows, also read Isaiah 11:3-5
Jesus said, "Judge not, and you will not be judged.
Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned.
Forgive, and you will be forgiven."
Luke 6:37

Father God I come before you today to ask for your forgiveness. O Lord, please forgive me of my judgment of others, for the gossiping, and for the condemnation I have given others. Lord I am no better than all the rest. I am a lowly wretch who has been saved through Jesus. You are my rock and salvation. Spare my tongue and thoughts today of evilness. May your grace shine through me to others today O Lord. May I be a beacon of hope to those around me rather than a swamp of negativity. Blessed be to You O Lord, in Your name I pray, Amen.
